DBC has convinced Henrik Winther, President, Tigrus Restaurant Holding, and Aage V. Nielsen, Managing Director, Vitus Bering Management, to share some of their business experiences and other interesting experiences from the late USSR and up through 1990'ies.

In late USSR and early 1990'ies there was initially almost no legislation ruling private business - all which was not forbidden, were allowed! From 1996 some relevant legislation were introduced especially in order to monetarise the economy and establish a tax-base - most business transactions were based on barter trade and/or cash deals. German Greff's reforms 2000-2004 introduced a number of legislation and rules creating more civilized business conditions.

Henrik and Aage are two of the Danish managers with the longest experience in the USSR and Russia:

Henrik came to Russia in September 1991 launching the first private restaurants in the USSR. Henrik worked as Managing Partner in 'Rosinter Restaurant Group'. In 2005 Henrik established the 'Tigrus Restaurant Holding', which has developed the Restaurant chains Bar BQ Café, Osteria Mario, Svilli and ZEST Coffee & Wine.

Aage started to work with Soviet enterprises in 1989 within Business Performance Improvement and Top-Management Training. He moved to Russia in September 1992 as Managing Director, PA Consulting Group, and has since January 1995 been Managing Director, Vitus Bering Management.
